Larry Neal Jr. Art »Enthralled with the arts, Larry Neal Jr. began sketching at a very young age. With his natural talent for the arts and his unique vision, he was able to pursue his passion further.
Larry graduated from Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts High School and earned his A.A. in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He developed his art skills under the wing of some of the best instructors and mentors in the art world and humbly accepted their teaching and guidance. Even now, he hasn’t stopped learning; Larry continues his artistic education by attending various online courses.
Larry was featured on the front page of The Orlando Times for his contributions as an essential healthcare worker and a minority artist. He has also helped create many murals in and around the city of Pittsburgh. His work was even put up on display at the RAW Natural Born Artists exhibition (2017), the Charismatic exhibition (2020-21), and the Flying High exhibition (2021).

Artist Statement
For the last five years, I have experimented with various blending and mixing techniques for my realistic paintings. I often choose concepts that allow me to focus on the color spectrum needed to create life-like paintings.
I intentionally pick colors from various ends of the spectrum, allowing my pieces to range from cool to warm, primary to secondary, and dark to light. In addition, when painting people, I tend to pay attention to the intricate details of their skin color and develop multiple layers to create a more realistic image.
As an artist, my overall vision is to create a collection of realistic artwork by focusing on an assortment of colors. Borrowing from the techniques and ideas used during the renaissance era, I sculpt and develop my own ideas and art.
While the idea of being able to create something beautiful with your own two hands is extraordinary, making a stranger or a loved one feel something with your art is even more special and inspiring. My goal is to bring my canvas to life by developing my skills, exploring various techniques, and using different colors and creative imagery.
